Rabbi Brody led a week-long learning program on end-of-life care and halacha as part of the Sephardic Rabbinical College in Deal, NJ. A group of rabbis explored major sources regarding essential topics such as:Â praying for the terminally ill, common end-of-life halachic scenarios, pain medication at the end-of-life, withholding versus withdrawing, and advance directives. This program was a part of Ematai’s continuing work with training rabbis about how to guide congregants regarding end-of-life care. It was a great and enriching experience that we hope to continue with other groups in the coming months.Â
